I can confirm this. I'm using Ubuntu Gutsy with a GeForce 8600 GT with
the proprietary Nvidia drivers from the repository, and I'm seeing the
same mangled text when resizing windows. I also see the weird arrows
when switching work spaces (see the screenshot).
