Public bug reported:
When you right-click on a file, and select "Copy", it not only prepares
you for pasting that file elsewhere, it also copies the file's path to
the clipboard.
I love the fact that nemo is trying to anticipate that I might need to
copy that file's path into a command prompt or code editor, but I wish
that the context menu separated these two types of copying into two
separate context-menu-items.
For example, I'd like "copy" to not put the file path into the
clipboard, but I would like an additional context-menu-item called "copy
path" that does indeed copy just the file's path to the clipboard.
I realize that the designer of this feature probably thinks he is
killing two birds with one stone here, but I have work-flows where I'm
both copying files and highlighted text in pretty mixed fashion. And,
the fact that this feature wraps these distinctly different tasks into
one context-menu-item, produces a file path instead of the text that
I've just highlighted and copied (because I copied and pasted a file
between the time I "highlighted and copied some text" and "pasted that
text").
Ok, what should ctrl-c do? Hmm, I'm cool with ctrl-c doing both types of
copying at once, but when I'm using the context-menu I should be able to
distinguish the type of copying I want.
