Also, it appears you are using the old graphics driver ("intel"). The
newer driver which should work better is called "modesetting".

If you have made a custom xorg.conf that enables the Intel driver then
please remove it. Please also try uninstalling the driver since you
shouldn't need it:

 sudo apt remove xserver-xorg-video-intel
