it seems likely there may be packaging or integration problems here, tho this bug emerges on multiple highly popular distributions.
how should things get arranged so that installing gnucash with apt-get (or yum) would pull in the libraries it needs? and meanwhile as a workaround i would be grateful for hints as to what packages to install to get gnucash settings functional. i am installing gnucash, twm, xterm, and either vnc server or X or both. i have installed these on centos6 (gnucash-2.4.15-4.el6.x86_64), xenial (gnucash 1:2.6.12-1), and bionic (gnucash 1:2.6.19-1). in all 3, gnucash does not crash, and is minimally usable, but lacks the ability to adjust any settings. i have also filed http://bugs.gnucash.org/show_bug.cgi?id=689849 ** Bug watch added: GnuCash Bug Tracker #689849 https://bugs.gnucash.org/show_bug.cgi?id=689849 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1826209 Title: gnucash settings unusable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/remind/+bug/1826209/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
