The message from the release upgrader should have mentioned using 'ppa-
purge' which will downgrade the packages you've installed from the PPA
to the official ones provided by the Ubuntu archive. 'add-apt-
repository' will just disable the PPA and not downgrade the packages.
Were you recommended to use ppa-purge?
