Firstly, please run this command to send us more information about the
machine:

  apport-collect 1827417

and in future you can avoid that by reporting bugs using the 'ubuntu-
bug' command.

Secondly, it sounds to me that this regression would most likely have
been the result of a kernel update, as audio regressions often are. So
please try some older (or newer) kernels and see if you can find some
that don't have the bug:
