Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: pidgin
I got an instant message from someone not in my buddy list. I added this
buddy to my list, I sent an authorization request to that someone, and
that someone authorized me and we were chatting-I could see her status
and so on, everything was allright. Next time I ran Pidgin, the buddy
was already marked as Not Authorized. And as I found out this had
happened a few times before already with other people :(
