Please reopen. I have a Z60t and it is experiencing exactly this problem in Gutsy. I had the problem fixed in Edgy, so I was disappointed when it reemerged in Gutsy. I've attempted to alter lid.sh as suggested above. I've also tried to altered /etc/default/acpi-support. Neither has worked.
