Public bug reported:

Since a few weeks, I get intermittent oopses on my HP nx6125 running
Edgy/AMD64, about once per day. The oops is not immediately fatal, but
the keyboard stops working and when I try to shut down the computer from
gnome, it hangs somewhere in the final stages of shutdown (after the
sound is muted). I think this problem first appeared with the
2.6.17-7-generic kernel. Two fairly similar-looking syslog fragments
from two oopses are attached.

It seems like cpufreqd is triggering the problem, am I right about that?

** Affects: linux-source-2.6.17 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Untriaged
         Status: Unconfirmed
