Linux 4.13 introduced a regression in overlayfs (upstream commit
4edb83bb1041). The problem was fixed in Linux 4.18 (upstream commit
67810693077afc1ebf9e1646af300436cb8103c2). Please consider backporting
this fix to the Xenial 4.15 kernels.
