Your attached AlsaInfo.txt seems to have the answer:
Pulseaudio:
Installed - Yes (/usr/bin/pulseaudio)
Running - No
So PulseAudio is not running.
This may be due to your edits:
modified.conffile..etc.pulse.default.pa: [modified]
or it may be due to a crash.
Please follow these instructions to check for a crash of pulseaudio:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Responses#Missing_a_crash_report_or_having_a_.crash_attachment
If you can't find any evidence of a crash then please try editing
/etc/pulse/daemon.conf and add a line:
realtime-scheduling = no
Then reboot and tell us if the problem persists.
** Summary changed:
- ubuntu audio
+ No sound. PulseAudio daemon is not running.
