Public bug reported: Binary package hint: apt
7.10, fresh install from desktop i386 CD, all updates through Nov 18 applied, 1.3GHz Athlon XP 1500+, abit NF7II board, 1GB ram. No other software installed. Using the GUI and Synaptic, I added the repository deb http://ftp.osuosl.org/pub/pculture,org/miro/linux/repositories/ubuntu gutsy (you see that this is malformed with a comma after pculture and no / after gutsy). After clicking on the Reload whirl, I got an error message saying I had a malformed entry, and the only option was to close the error box. But this also closed Synaptic. I tried reopening Synaptic a couple of times and each time the same error box came up immediately and prevented me from removing or correcting the bad entry. (I finally opened a terminal window and edited /etc/apt/sources.list by hand.) I feel that the program logic before and/or after the error message should be changed so that correction could be effected without leaving Synaptic. ** Affects: apt (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- malformed repository error disables synaptic; cannot correct in GUI https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/163732 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
