Public bug reported:

I tried to replace my old Ubuntu 12.04 to 18.04 by overwriting it. I
choose 'Something else' and try to format the ext4 partition containing
my old 12.04. But, at the grub installation part, it said that the grub
bootloader failed to installed.

Note: My machine is dual boot with Win 8
