HI, I believe this problem is not in Ubuntu, but in a common part of most of all recent dist (kernel?). I had feisty 32 bits installed in my HP Pavilion dv6215us, AMD Turion 64, and it worked fine. Now I decide to try other dists (just for fun) and had similar problems in Fedora 8, Mandriva 2008 and Opensuse 10.3, as also in Gutsy (all 32 bits). Searching internet, its possible to find users from these distos reporting boot problems like "in previous version I could, but now I cant...". That`s why I believe the problem is not in Ubuntu... Is it possible to track kernel modifications from previous versions?
