Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: audacious-plugins-extra

Hi

With the pulse plugin I get stuttering sound, but using alsa with an
alsa-lib pulse device it works fine. I have looked at the audacious-
plugins-extra source package(actually audacious-plugins source package)
.

What I see is the pulse plugin is nearly identically to the xmms-pulse
plugin published here: http://0pointer.de/lennart/projects/xmms-pulse
/xmms-pulse-0.9.4.tar.gz

The differences as I see them is that the audacious plugin is including
the audacious header files instead of xmms/beep-media-player header
files and then xmms-pulse contains some ifdef's for building for xmms or
beep-media-player. There doesn't seem to be any differences besides
that.

I should say that xmms works fine with the metioned xmms-pulse plugin(no
stuttering). I am using pulseaudio 0.9.7 for this (I modified the
existing pulseaudio packages and builded some new).

I don't know who is responsible for the audacious-pulse plugin if it is
motu who has modified the xmms-pulse plugin to work with audacious or
the upstream audacious people have created such a plugin(I can see they
don't mention such a plugin at their site) So maybe it has to go
upstream.

** Affects: audacious-plugins (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
