Public bug reported:

When I installed wine and tried to select windows programs, everything
appeared OK. Until I tried downloading updates for Ubuntu or Kubuntu
and I get the error "dpkg was interruped, you must run 'dpkg--configure
-a' to correct problem. I tried to run this in run command and got the
error "could not run specified command". I tried wine uninstall and
get a screen "please select the application you wish to install" The
blinking cursor is blank and I entered wine and hit uninstall with no
response.
