Yes thats the problem. I have a fresh installation of Gusty here. I have
a Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse Explorer 2.0. My mouse section of
xorg.conf looks so:

Section "InputDevice"
        Identifier      "Configured Mouse"
        Driver          "mouse"
        Option          "CorePointer"
        Option          "Device"        "/dev/input/mice"
        Option          "Protocol"      "ImPS/2"
        Option          "ZAxisMapping"  "4 5"
        Option          "Emulate3Buttons"       "true"
EndSection

Ubuntu need a proper mouse detection and the GUI for mouse configuration
needs an update to reflect more than two buttons + scrollweel.
