Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: hddtemp
On Ubuntu/gutsy amd64 (2.6.22-14-generic), the hddtemp (0.3-beta15)
daemon exits silently and immediately (no error message, no daemon)
when invoked from /etc/init.d/hddtemp or the terminal.
Discovered when sensors-applet blocked the "add applet" window and
toolbars, taking several minutes to start, then expected hddtemp "tree"
was unavailable.
Problem exists whether DISKS= is specified in /etc/default/hddtemp or
not.
I am running dmraid (mirror on sdc & sdd), but hddtemp works fine in the
foreground on the command line with the relevant block devices, e.g.
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo hddtemp SATA:/dev/sda SATA:/dev/sdb SATA:/dev/sdb
SATA:/dev/sdd
/dev/sda: ST3300820SCE: 30°C
/dev/sdb: ST3300820SCE: 30°C
/dev/sdb: ST3300820SCE: 30°C
/dev/sdd: ST3160023AS: 32°C
