The problem seems to be the filesystem-specific options; I've just
noticed that ntfs-3g also seems to behave this way. Is it a general
problem with fuse filesystems? It's certainly counter-intuitive (I was
thinking my mount options had been silently ignored when I checked
mount(8) options.)
