Public bug reported: I first noticed the bug using amarok.
Shorten files will be sorted in the playlist but when played, all there is to hear is a choppy stream of sound (clearly decodes properly but only sends out little bits of the sound file at a time, almost as though it was lagging while trying to decode) The bug seems to have been filed under the music player (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xine-lib/+bug/63130) but as I (and others) have noticed, amarok uses xine as sound system. I have tried playing shn files with another xine front end (gxine) and have found the same behavior. If only this could be sorted out! I'm certain many audiophiles would be greatful :) ** Affects: xine-lib (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: I first noticed the bug using amarok. - Shn files will be sorted in the playlist but when played, all there is - to hear is a choppy stream of sound (clearly decodes properly but only - sends out little bits of the sound file at a time, almost as though it - was lagging while trying to decode) + Shorten files will be sorted in the playlist but when played, all there + is to hear is a choppy stream of sound (clearly decodes properly but + only sends out little bits of the sound file at a time, almost as though + it was lagging while trying to decode) The bug seems to have been filed under the music player (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xine-lib/+bug/63130) but as I (and others) have noticed, amarok uses xine as sound system.
