Ran into the same issue today, tried a lot of stuff before being able to eventually fix it. I had to wipe my entire Banshee installation (I deleted all the Banshee files on my machine and ran sudo apt purge banshee + apt autoremove & apt autoclean) then rebooted my system and reinstalled banshee. The rebooting part seems to have been essential but I can't figure out why. Regardless, Banshee now starts properly again.
