So the original reporter does not respond, and we need to somehow verify the fix to make it reach bionic-updates.
I created a fresh Bionic VM, installed qtbase from -proposed, quiterss and qbittorrent and left them running for several hours (as you can see in the attached screenshot). No crash occurred, so I think we can treat this bug as verified for bionic.
