Note there are 3 sections.
The first section starts with "wpa_supplicant v2.6"
When I upgrade to 2.9 you can see this start with "wpa_supplicant v2.9"
When I revert back to 2.6 you can see "wpa_supplicant v2.6" again.

The wifi disconnects immediately after upgrading to 2.9, and I am able
to reconnect to wifi immediately after downgrading to 2.6 using "sudo
nmcli con up Manhattan". (That's the name of my network manager
connection.)

As to bisecting the changes between 2.6 and 2.9.... That might take a
while!
