The issue has been fixed long ago:

root@fcb1ffe7c547:/# dpkg -l | grep mariadb
ii  mariadb-common                   1:10.3.17-0+deb10u1   all          MariaDB
common metapackage
ii  mariadb-server-core-10.3         1:10.3.17-0+deb10u1   amd64        MariaDB
database core server files

root@fcb1ffe7c547:/# hardening-check /usr/sbin/mysqld
/usr/sbin/mysqld:
 Position Independent Executable: yes
 Stack protected: yes
 Fortify Source functions: yes (some protected functions found)
 Read-only relocations: yes
 Immediate binding: yes

This issue is filed against MariaDB 10.0 and I don't there will be any more
developments on that version. I suggest we just close this issue as fixed in a
later release.

** Changed in: mariadb-10.0 (Ubuntu)
   Importance: High => Low
