I can reproduce this 100%... each time i startup Blender 3d and actually
render a window my whole X-server will hang  pretty soon (I can make it
do so almost immediately by dragging the render window around). I have
the intel 965GM/GL integrated graphics chip X3100 (Thinkpad X61s).

I've added both the log from the xserver and a gdm backtrace (in a single file) 
as par the instructions i saw in an earlier message.
I hope this gives all the information needed... If not just message here and 
i'll provide any information necessary.
