I can replicate this bug. Note that copy & paste to gedit seems to work
fine, it's just drag & drop that doesn't. Further, once the characters
are represented correctly in gedit, they can be dragged and dropped to
other the Epiphany location bar, Terminal, and Pidgin without
difficulties. Further, dragging from Epiphany to Pidgin to gedit works
as expected. Within Epihany, dragging '中文' to a textarea works, but
dragging from Pidgin or gedit results in '\u4e2d\u6587'.
