I downloaded and installed http://launchpadlibrarian.net/10228774/libasound2_1.0.15-1ubuntu1_i386.deb on my computer b following the links from https://edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/hardy/+source/alsa-lib.
With this package sound works for me.
