Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better.
This failure was caused by a corrupted file system, or device failure. eg. look in the logs and you'll see messages like these :- Oct 12 06:46:16 ubuntu kernel: [ 424.281840] SQUASHFS error: zlib decompression failed, data probably corrupt Oct 12 06:46:16 ubuntu kernel: [ 424.283218] SQUASHFS error: squashfs_read_data failed to read block 0x2a473d4d Oct 12 06:46:16 ubuntu kernel: [ 424.286839] SQUASHFS error: zlib decompression failed, data probably corrupt Oct 12 06:46:16 ubuntu kernel: [ 424.286852] SQUASHFS error: squashfs_read_data failed to read block 0x2a473d4d Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a useful bug report so I am closing it, as it appears to be a faulty device (or bad write-to-device). If you believe I'm in error, please leave a comment explaining why and change the status back to 'New'. I suggest you verify your ISO download, and use the 'check disc for defects' option to validate your media before install to ensure a good download & write. Possible useful : https://tutorials.ubuntu.com/tutorial/tutorial-how-to- verify-ubuntu#0 and https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/CDIntegrityCheck fyi: As Tom already indicated; Ubuntu 17.04 or the 2017-April release of Ubuntu is EOL; it upgraded to 17.10 which is also EOL (end-of-life) I'd suggest starting again with a supported release of Ubuntu, plus validate your download or write to media; one of which was likely flawed prior to your install. ** Changed in: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1847837 Title: Unable to install ubuntu in my laptop as it is showing hard drive error as i have scanned my all disks i didn't receive any bad sectors please help me out to resolve this error To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1847837/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
