Thank you for your bug report. The setting is working fine here, could
you remove the synaptic driver, reboot, trigger the issue and attach
your 'journalctl -b 0' log to the bug?
Can you also install libinput-tools and run 'sudo libinput-list-devices'
before doing the change, after again and one more time after closing the
settings?
