Public bug reported:
After I have upgraded to the Gutsy Gibbon, my network manager doesn't detect
that an Ethernet cable is unplugged or plugged-in.
I'm using an HP nx7400 notebook.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Shutdown Linux and turn off the power.
2. Unplug the Ethernet cable.
3, Turn the notebook on and login into the system.
4. The nm-manager applet doesn't display the image which means that the
notebook isn't connected to internet like it did in the previous version of
Ubuntu.
5. Plug the Ethernet cable in. Network manager doesn't detect it and doesn't
try to obtain IP address from the local DHCP server. I have to run manually
sudo ifup eth0 to enable my eth0 interface.
