did you performed an Upgrade? If so try using 2.6.22-15 version of the kernel. The default boot still stays the same as before upgrade (2.6.22-14). This will solve problem if you are using less the 4GB. With 4 GB or more . then the possibility is with device drivers for some of your hard ware.
