heh... you made wrong setting in /etc/fstab
you do not have hda at all, you have /dev/sda1 woith WindowsXP and /dev/sdb1
with NTFS. And because you have in you /etc/fstab
/dev/sda1 /media/USB250GB ntfs-3g defaults,locale=en_US.utf8 0 0
this will mount you WindowsXP
