Let me update the description of the problem: I launch Counter Strike: Global Offensive and the screen freezes on the main menu. I can hear sounds from the game, I can hear feedback sounds from hover events, and I can press buttons on the frozen interface (it works) but I never see the frame change. In other words, the rendering gets stuck. It doesn't update.
This wasn't reproducible on the first run. After I installed Ubuntu 19.10, I was able to happily play the game.
