Thank you for your bug report. Do you remember what package got updated
when the issue started? (you can also check in /var/log/dpkg.log)

When you say 'DNS is not configured', could you give details on what you
is wrong/note working exactly? Is name resolution failing? Or is it
using another DNS server than the one you would expect?

It's likely a side effect from that SRU

You could probably confirm that's the case by downloading/installing the old 
debs from
https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-security/+archive/ubuntu/ppa/+build/15599058
(you basically need the one listed by '$ dpkg -l | grep 1.10.6-2ubuntu1.2')
