Did you install the pulseaudio-esound-compat and pulseaudio-module-gconf
binary packages? If so, did you then configure gstreamer-properties
(audio sink) to use pulseaudio? I presume your user already has System>
Preferences> Sound> Enable software sound mixer enabled.
