Public bug reported: When powertop is actived, I have a unbearable whistling in 3.5mm jack headphones.
When powertop is disabled, I have not problem with my 3.5mm jack headphones. Dell 9570 XPS 15 / Realtek ALC3266 audio card / Linux Mint 19.2 based on Ubuntu 18.04 / same problems on Ubuntu 18.04 and Debian 10 Buster. History of the problem : https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1841485 The current version of powertop is 2.11 : https://01.org/powertop/ It would be advisable to migrate as quickly as possible to this version for all Debian / Ubuntu systems. This driver is very important for good system stability in energy saving mode. I hope you all do your best to keep it up to date in the future.
