Public bug reported: Description: Ubuntu 16.04.6 LTS Release: 16.04
mate-terminal 1.12.1-1 libvte9 1:0.28.2-5ubuntu3 When copy-pasting into certain applications (such as MariaDB client), ~0 and ~1 are added around the pasted text, e.g.: this is some copied text becomes 0~this is some copied text1~ Some searching finds that this is due to a mishandling of bracketed pastes. Apparently this was fixed in the VTE library. According to [1]: "libvte-2.91-0 is good. libvte-2.90-9 is only good if the actual version of that package is 0.36.2 or newer, and libvte9 is bad" mate-terminal in Ubuntu 16.04 depends on libvte9. libvte-2.91-0 is also available in Ubuntu 16.04. Just installing it doesn't fix the issue of course; mate-terminal would need to be updated to use it.
