Public bug reported:
I install python 3.8
jorgen@modulus:~ $ sudo snap install python38
python38 3.8.0 from Omer Akram (om26er) installed
The installation seems ok, and I have virtualenv installed since before.
jorgen@modulus:~ $ which virtualenv
/usr/bin/virtualenv
But when I try to create a venv with python 3.8 it doesn't work
jorgen@modulus:~ $ virtualenv -p python38 py38env
Running virtualenv with interpreter /snap/bin/python38
python3.8: can't open file '/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/virtualenv.py':
[Errno 2] No such file or directory
But virtualenv is there:
jorgen@modulus:~ $ ls -la /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/virtualenv.py
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 101127 Apr 6 2018
/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/virtualenv.py
