A few more deja-dup issues:
deja-dup (brings up GUI, I select backup...)

sudo deja-dup (brings up GUI, I select backup...)

ImportError: No module named future
So:
pip install future
Requirement already satisfied: future in ./.local/lib/python2.7/site-packages
(0.18.2)
But isn't in python3 now?
