Public bug reported:

The issue occurs every time I try to install Linux 18.04 (but had similar 
results with 16.04 release).
It never gets past the grub2 install.

Happens with the auto install and erase disk, or by formatting the disk
and having a predefined EFI partition + swap following instructions
already provided in similar reported issues online.
