Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

Looking at the Apt logs, it could be a user (with `sudo` access) has
modified the /etc/default/grub and it needs correction. To me, support
seems appropriate.

/usr/sbin/grub-mkconfig: 34: /etc/default/grub: Syntax error: EOF in backquote
substitution
run-parts: /etc/kernel/postrm.d/zz-update-grub exited with return code 2

You could find help with your problem in the support forum of your local
Ubuntu community http://loco.ubuntu.com/ or asking at
https://askubuntu.com or https://ubuntuforums.org, or for more support
options please look at https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/community-
support/709
