Public bug reported:
When switching users (whether you use the "user switcher" or the power
button in the upper right hand corner of the screen) the monitor shows a
black screen. The only way I have been able to get back into Ubuntu is
to restart the computer manually.
I am using Ubuntu 7.10. Steps to reproduce the bug:
1)Install Ubuntu 7.10
2)Update with only important security updates and recommended updates enabled
(after this user switching still works)
3)Enable unsupported updates and download all updates.
4)Try to switch users.
I have followed this procedure several times and have reproduced the bug
every time. I believe that this indicates that the bug is in one of the
unsupported updates, however I have not been able to determine which
update causes this issue. I have only tried it on one computer so I can
not confirm whether or not it's just an issue with my computer.
