same probleme here since month,
problem started with kernel 5 and every version seems affected,
"loading initial ramdisk" hangs at startup,
last working kernel for me: linux-image-4.18.0-17-generic
my system:
MEDION® AKOYA® S6426, Intel® Core™ i5-8250U, 39,6 cm (15,6'') FHD Display, 6 GB
RAM, Notebook
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8250U CPU @ 1.60GHz
VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation UHD Graphics 620 (rev 07)
Device: Mesa DRI Intel(R) UHD Graphics 620 (Kabylake GT2) (0x5917)
with the 4.18 kernel i have some issues with waking up too,
