Hi - I had posted that original hack vijinho is referring to. It doesn't *disable* gnome-screensaver. Here's what is basically done:
1) Move the gnome-screensaver program to gnome-screensaver-actual 2) Re-write gnome-screensaver as a script that does some necessary settings and passes some necessary options on to gnome-screensaver-actual. 3) Kill any existing gnome-screensaver processes, and run gnome-screensaver-actual. The target effect is essentially what one would expect under normal conditions - i.e. the screen doesn't blank after 10 minutes or so, and the gnome-screensaver runs as per the settings you specify (e.g. in the Gnome Screensaver Preferences). The more lengthy original post can be found here, if you wish to use it as a basis for a how-to: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=584406&p=3651954 -- Screen blanks after ten minutes when watching video in Mplayer with XGL and Compiz Fusion turned on https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/125947 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
