Hello, I switched to the open source radeon driver and I noticed one
slight difference in the random freezes (which still occur as I
suspected). Now with the open source driver, I have the ability to move
the mouse upon lock up, but that is it. No ctrl+alt+backspace, nothing.
Previously, the fglrx driver would provide no mouse movement, but still
locked the system completely. The freezes still occur with both drivers
at random times.

There also seems to be little activity in the bug report lately. Is it
possible that this issue is being discussed elsewhere and if so, can
anyone point me in the right direction? This is a high priority bug as
it completely destroys the notion of system stability, and I am really
desperate to work this issue out. Thanks.
