The issue is probably:
[ 8.309] (WW) intel(0): Unknown chipset
[ 8.374] (II) GLX: Initialized DRISWRAST GL provider for screen 0
But I wouldn't blame the intel driver. It's old and may not ever support
newer Intel GPUs. You should instead use the newer "modesetting" driver.
If you have a custom Xorg config file then replace "intel" with
"modesetting".
If you don't, then just uninstall the Intel driver:
sudo apt remove xserver-xorg-video-intel
** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) => xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu)
