M2A692-GHG
Could you please describe what happens in greater detail? Do you ever
get to the first screen of the installer, where does it stop booting or
otherwise fail? What leads you to believe it's an issue with the
motherboard?
Thanks!

Thank you!
That seems to have done the trick. Other small hicups are the Linux/GNU
graphics etc on the ATI/AMD 690G and SB600 chipset (probably Ubuntu/
Dedbian/ ATI to sort out)
Incidentally I do hope Jetway produces a similar board and like very soon with
the production of the new Hi-Speed Direct X10 Intel G35 chipset... That would
really set the ball rolling!

Dear Mr. John,
Sorry for our late reply. After our testing in the past days, we
found that you will need to do one more setup:
Enter into BIOs setup > Integrated Peripherals > South Onchip PCI
Device > Onchip USB KBC Controller > Disable
Can you please test it?
Thank you and best regards,
JetWay Computer B.V.
關於 M2A692 + Ubuntu 7.10 OEM 選項當機問題 ,
除了 Disable "HPET Support" , 我們這裡發現還要去
BIOS setup \ Integrated peripherals \ South Onchip PCI device ,
將 Onchip USB KBC Controller 關起來才會正常 .

Subject: Re: AM2 M2A692-GHG - Bios/ Install Fault - Linux
I have done as you suggested and although the Install CD would now boot but
partway through for Ubuntu 7.04 to 7.10 install the Keyboard could do nothing
(not even Ctrl + Alt + Del keys worked)... it Frozed out at (1) OEM install
Configure the Network and the port
Hostname.....
ubuntu (at this point I could do nothing with the Keyboard), and not even
Ctrl+Alt+Del worked!
I also tryed OEM Ubuntu 6.06.1 and the Screen went off at the
beginning OEM boot install CD point.. i.e right at the very begiining
the screen went blank!
So dispite what you suggest I still cannot install the Manufactures
OEM version from the CD
Note my motherboard is the latest Jetway Version 3

AM2 M2A692-GHG using AMD 4600+ / 1Gb CL5 Dual Ram
Updated to latest Bios - all ok.
Bios is on default setting with CD-Rom called up before hard drive.
Windows XP plus Vista boots and installs all ok
*** BUT NOT SO FOR LINUX **** see below...
I am using SATA2 Hard Disk Drive: Hitachi 160Gb HDS721616PLA380
and am not able to install/ boot at CD stage either Mandriva and or
Ubuntu Linux!
MANDRIVA LINUX 2008 will not boot/install from CD
also Ubuntu versions 6.06 up to latest 7.10 will like wise not
install/ boot with fault messages as follows :-
Ubuntu 6.06 to 7.10 CD and Alternative CD's will not install
on Jetway Motherboard AM2 M2A692-GHG (chipset AMD 690G & SB600)
message either
Needs IO-APIC MP-BIOS bug: bug 8254 timer not connected to IO-APIC
17179569.596000
17179569.964000
or as from on Ubuntu 7.10 Alternative CD install
[0.480000] PCI:cannot allocate resource region 1 of device
0000:00:14.0
Note motherboard reports all ok
Obvious the Bios is not letting Linux load-up!
What can I do? ... as I've already tryed everything
