Public bug reported:

Perhaps my Apple iMac G5 version hardware does not support a newer OS? I
haven't looked into that, to be honest.

So please don't spend too much time on this one.

Ubuntu 18 was not in the powerpc ubuntu's list, so perhaps it is wise,
not to try upgrading to that. Maybe iMac G5 owners should not get an
upgrade proposal by the updater. I bet, you don't get many people
thinking that's a bug.

It is just an old machine and I am glad enough, I found an Ubuntu Mate and a
Lubuntu PowerPC distro for it. I'm slowly learning how that Apple partition
table, and that bootloader Yaboot is working. Was glad I managed to copy the OS
partition to a larger harddisk and got it booting. Basic stuff for ict
professionals, but fun to figure things out. Next hurdle is finding out, why
some models do boot from usb, and some don't. Having only one sata port
onboard, booting usb would be nice, to have some options. Yes, this is a nice
hobby. Wish I had more than 1 core.

The bluetooth results in a System program error (ish, I got it in
Dutch), turning bluetooth off helps, or simply ignoring the warnings.
Haven't noticed any nasty side effects. I guess this is one of the small
problems you expect, using weird old computers. Perhaps there is some
manufacturer's support for that bluetooth part, something was written
for or by Apple, maybe some shareware code is available. Or it's work in
progress, safety and bluetooth are opposites... If that error keeps
popping up, I might report that one seperately. Now it's just to give
you an impression of the few Ubuntu problems I've met, using this iMac
G5.

And I should join some group of old Apple and Linux enthusiasts,
perhaps. There are more people still using old hardware...

Thanks for taking notice, it's just a "hey, not upgrading" thing.
