Slimdog360: in what universe is your strategy of removing it entirely a "solution"? You don't need to install it if you don't want to... and as tenthousands of people have installed it successfully, I think it is useful for them.
Surely repairing your specific problem would be nice, but I think it's very egocentric to suggest to entirely remove a package that doesn't install on your environment.
