If Audigy2 is the default sound card in Gnome and Alsa the laptop doesn't go to suspend even with force. mixer_applet2 uses 100% and the sleep.sh script waits. If I kill the applet suspend works fine afterwards. This doesn't happen if Intel sound card is the default one (which is the default configuration on Live CD) so it has something to do with the Audigy2 and Gnome. Of course the main resume problem is a kernel/module issue. Btw. with the Vanilla 2.6.24 rc3 force option helps to suspend laptop but it doesn't resume.
